Frequently asked questions
How is GPA calculated?
Each grade has a point value (A = 4.0, B = 3.0, etc.). Multiply each grade's points by its credit hours, add them up, and divide by total credit hours.
What is the difference between GPA and CGPA?
GPA covers one semester; CGPA (cumulative GPA) combines all semesters using the same weighted formula.
Can I use a different grading scale?
This calculator uses the common 4.0 scale. If your university uses a different scale, map your grades to the closest 4.0 equivalents.
