Frequently asked questions
What is URL encoding?
Replacing unsafe characters with % followed by hex codes — e.g. a space becomes %20 — so URLs work reliably everywhere.
When should I use full component encoding?
When a value goes inside a query parameter (like ?q=...), encode the component so characters such as & and = don't break the URL structure.
Why does decoding fail sometimes?
A lone % not followed by two hex digits is invalid. Double-check the input or re-encode the original text.
Is it private?
Yes — everything runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
